National 12 Sailing Dinghy

Wood construction - circa 1952 "Slipstream" - this could be one of the very last dinghies built in this manner still sailing today.

Here we have an absolute amazing family owned solid mahogany clinker built boat.  In what can only be described as beautiful condition.  It has been owned by the same family for virtually all its life and has been maintained in first class condition.

It has been sailed, raced, cruised and raised a whole family of dinghy experts over the years. It has been sailed every year of its life and dry stored every winter, therefore no black frost damage.

The deck was replaced about 15 years ago and the boat has been constantly and carefully maintained.

It comes complete with all the equipment includes a legal road going trailer coupled with a launching trolley which has brand new wheels.  The sails are in excellent order but obviously are not original. The stainless steel rigging was replaced two years ago.

A new centreboard housing seal rubber was installed two years ago.

It has has a pair of oars and a good boat cover.

Mirror sails or similar

I have recently acquired a 12 ft dinghy in Alnmouth after having sold my Falmouth bass boat . You my be familiar with - she is called 'Dirty Floater' (name change on its way). Unfortunately the sails have gone astray and wonder if any members have any Mirror or similar sails that might help .

Recycycle your old sails!

There is an artist in the village, Harriet McHugh of 'Just Harry' Designs, who will recycle old sails into new items of clothing and baggage. Anyone who has any old sails can drop them off for her at the Red Lion Pub Alnmouth where her mother is the landlady.

Enterprise  17396 (Firefly)

These are pictures when we repainted the hull a couple of years ago. I have also attached a picture of me and my daughter sailing sometime after. Firefly comes complete with road trailer, launching trolley, a good over boom Pvc cover and the usual wardrobe of sails etc. She suffered some damage to the gunwale in a storm ashore last winter and the trailer/trolley need a little work. Whilst we have spent a lot of time on her we are happy to let someone else have the pleasure of her so any reasonable offer would be acceptable.

The Topper is in similar condition to this one I found a picture of. The rudder mount needs a little work but the boat is otherwise fine. This boat also had a new cover a couple of years ago and has a launching trolley. Again any reasonable offer would be acceptable.
